I have started a new project photographing the play structures designed and built by sculptor/ architect Jim Miller-Mellberg. Chances are if you grew up in Michigan in the 60s, 70s or even in the 80s and visited a park or two you have played on one or more of these modernist structures. Very few are standing today and I have found a few in my Hometown of Pontiac, Michigan. Sadly a large majority of them in Pontiac are at the sites of vacant and abandoned schools which leads me to believe that they won't be around much longer as the schools are being repurposed as commercial businesses.
